The Shield Jeans are a true single layer jean with no extra mesh lining like most single layer jeans and are made with a newly developed Spectra® denim. They look exactly like regular jeans but with incredible strength and durability. Spectra ® is 40% stronger than aramid and fifteen times stronger than steel and is one of the world’s strongest and lightest fibres. Knox, being a Spectra partner have the privilege of being the first company to work with this new denim. The weave of the denim is patent pending and is entirely unique and delivers unparalleled strength in like for like weights.

These high-performance single layer jeans are the pinnacle of the Knox jean collection. This is due to their amazing strength and high-performance Class AAA rating that conforms to EN17092-2:2020. To put this in perspective, the AAA a class is normally reserved for one piece leather race suits.
Shield denim jeans are made from Ultra-High Molecular Weight Polyethylene fibres. These fibres are known for their high strength and durability, yet they still offer added stretch for exceptional all-day comfort on a motorcycle. Spectra ®, being one of the worlds lightest yet strongest fabrics is 40% stronger than aramid and a staggering fifteen times stronger than steel! The weave of the denim is entirely unique and delivers unparalleled strength in like for like weights.
While the jeans are superior in strength and comfort, Spectra® also repels moisture, helping the wearer to stay dry. Spectra fibre additionally helps the rider to stay cool since it pulls heat from the body. Because Spectra® fibre is stronger, regular wear and tear is much less of a concern. These are hypo allergenic and won’t, therefore, cause irritation.
There are four invisible armour pockets with easy external access for removal of low-profile Knox CE Micro-Lock protectors in the hips and knees. These are fitted as standard and come with a five year guarantee when registered. These Shield jeans make up part of the Knox Seasonless Collection. Simply add a waterproof trouser over the top when it rains and wear a base layer for added comfort.
The Spectra denim fabric additionally provides some heat resistance. They have been tested to EN ISO 11612:2015 and they pass all the requirements for both radiant and contact heat.
All of this is delivered with a carefully tailored tapered fit which looks perfect both on and off the bike. Details such as leather branding on the waist, Knox branded rivets, key ring and waist button as well as YKK zips all finish these Shield jeans to the incredibly high standards that they are built on. Four deep pockets, as well as being machine washable, add to their practicality.
The Shield jeans are available in indigo blue with a choice of a regular leg length of 33” or a short 30” leg. Sizes are from a S – 3XL.

Waist: To work out your size, measure your waist in the position your trousers usually sit. As a guide, this is roughly 2 inches (approx 5-6cm) below your belly button. Once you have this measure, minus 2 inches (approx 5-6cm) from it to get your trouser size.
Inside Leg: Measure from the top of your inside leg down to your ankle. You should do this whilst standing to get a more accurate measure.
Please note: The measurements given are body measures and we recommend you do not measure over the clothing. Also please hold the tape measure firmly and not loosely as the measurement needs to be fitted.

The jeans are very comfortable and I have worn them for a full day at the office after riding in, I had a number of comments asking about my new jeans 🙂 The removal of the knee pads without taking them off is one of the best features. They are still a little warm if walking outside in higher temperatures (into the 20s) but then again most jeans are! Check the size guide carefully, due I am normally a medium in most clothes but a large in this. The size guide is perfectly accurate but the labels seem to be one size bigger than I would have expected. They run a little long, however with a couple of turn ups at the bottom they are a perfect fit. Overall, I am very pleased with my purchase and the customer service received from Knox was outstanding as always.

Flowed air through the material so A ride in warm sunny (low 20’s) day so not too warm. Only 4 stars as they only come in one colour (prefer a lighter shade) and I haven’t yet tested how water resistant they are. Great start though!

This is a 1000 mile review, the majority of which was over four days in a heat wave with temperatures up to 31 degrees. They were comfortable from the start, the easy removal of the knee armour is ideal, the cut, design and construction are all first class. These are much lighter than my old style jeans, I suspect I will need an additional layer for the autumn.

The stretchiness gives them a comfortable slim-but-not-skinny fit and feel, and they are great for a full day at the office when off the bike. Being able to easily remove the knee armour is a treat. They are well made with good attention to detail and feel like they will probably outlast me by quite a bit!
They feel supremely comfortable on the bike, and the odd drizzle or wet seat does not seem to faze them at all.
Now if only Knox made these in black, I would feel compelled to purchase another pair.

(verified owner)A really great pair of trousers, every part feels premium. I’ve fortunately not had to test their protection yet, but for what it’s worth they feel tough. I’m particularly impressed with the amount of stretch in the material. The easily accessibly knee pockets are also a wonderful feature to have.
They’d be perfect if it weren’t for the fit. I’ve found them quite tight around the crotch and thigh. I would have also liked to have seen some reflectivity, possibly on the insider of the cuff? They’re also not quite as cool as they would have you believe, the fronts and backs of my knees get quite hot.

These jeans are amazing. The hip and knee armor have excellent coverage, and sit where they should. I ordered some jeans from REV’IT shortly after receiving these, and the difference is night and day. These jeans FEEL premium. The fit is awesome, even with the hip armor in. The weight is perfect, and the denim is just beautiful. I should also add that, for anyone with large thighs and buttocks, these jeans are a LIFESAVER. I should also add that the waist on these jeans sit higher, and this contributes the natural look of the jeans off the bike, as opposed to many other moto jeans, which often add quite a bit of width to the hips and are quite unflattering on men.
