Last week, we headed out to Sardinia for the launch of the new KTM 890 SMT.

A mixture of beautiful scenery and some of the best roads on planet earth set the scene for the rebirth of KTM’s iconic SMT. What did we find out?

With a 200kg plus wet weight and being derived from the highly successful KTM 890 Adventure, the SMT clearly isn’t what you’d consider a pure Supermoto machine. But with an excellent and powerful motor, a market leading high performance suspension and braking package with long distance capability, in our book the 890 SMT may just be the road going adventure bike a lot of people have been looking for.
