The Standard EN 17092 defines 5 different levels of protection which are tested according to the class of protection they offer. The different classes are listed below.<\/h4>\n

EN 17092 -2 Class AAA garments.<\/h5>\n

These garments give more protection but may have limiting ergonomic, weight, and thermal penalties for some riding activities. Some common examples are one and two-piece suits.<\/p>\n

EN 17092 -3 Class AA garments.<\/h5>\n

These garments generally offer protection against the risks of the greatest diversity of riding activities and they may have lower ergonomic and weight penalties than Class AAA garments. Some common examples are garments designed to be worn by themselves or to be worn over other clothing.<\/p>\n

EN 17092 -4 Class A garments.<\/h5>\n

These garments offer a minimum necessary degree of protection from impact and abrasion using materials and construction that meet lower requirements than for parts 2 and 3 of this standard series. Class A garments are expected to have the least ergonomic and weight penalties. Some common examples are garments designed to be worn by themselves or to be worn over other clothing by riders in warm environments.<\/p>\n

EN 17092 -5 Class B garments.<\/h5>\n

This class is for specialized garments designed to provide the equivalent abrasion protection of Class A garments but without the inclusion of impact protectors. Class B garments do not offer impact protection and it is recommended that they be worn with at least EN 1621-1 shoulder and elbow impact protectors in the case of a jacket or EN 1621-1 knee impact protectors in the case of trousers in order to offer complete minimum protection.<\/p>\n

Some common examples are modular garments suitable to be combined with other garments providing impact protection.<\/p>\n

EN 17092 -6 Class C garments.<\/h5>\n

This class is for specialized non-shell impact protector ensemble garments designed only to hold one or more impact protectors in place either as an undergarment or as an overgarment. Class C garments are designed to provide impact protection for areas covered by the impact protector(s) only and they do not offer complete minimum abrasion protection and may not offer complete minimum impact protection.<\/p>\n

Class C garments are designed to offer supplemental impact protection only. It is intended that Class C garments be worn in combination with Class AAA, AA, A, or B garments to enhance the protection Class AAA, AA, A, or B garments offer.<\/p>\n

Some common examples are modular garments suitable to be combined with other garments providing impact and abrasion protection or only abrasion protection.<\/p>\n

WARNING:<\/strong> The degree of risk or hazard that a motorcyclist will face is closely linked to the type of riding and the nature of the accident. Riders are cautioned to carefully choose motorcyclists\u2019 protective garments that match their riding activity and risks. Other garments or garment combinations certified according to the EN 17092 series of standards may provide more appropriate protection than this garment but there may be weight or ergonomic (e.g. range of motion restrictions) or heat stress penalties associated with their use that may be less appropriate for some riders activities.<\/p>\n

Do not use this garment if impact protectors have been removed. No PPE or combination of PPE can offer full protection against injury.<\/strong><\/p>\n

ADJUSTMENT:<\/h4>\n

Knox Trousers & Jeans are intended to fit the same as regular jeans. Once the jeans are on, zip up the fly and button the waist to ensure the jeans are secure. There are traditional belt loops to add an additional belt if required. Please ensure the protectors are correctly located over the hips and knees.<\/p>\n

The impact protectors are installed at knees and hips. The hip protectors are positioned in a pocket on the inside of the waistband. The Knee protectors are accessible from an external pocket zip located on the inside leg seam. To reach these, open the zipper entrance by the inside of leg.<\/p>\n

SIZES AVAILABLE<\/h4>\n

To ensure the perfect fit of the garment, measure the contour of your waist in inches and search the following table for the suitable size. Wear the most suitable garment according to your measurements, fasten and check the protectors fit properly.<\/p>\n

NOTE:<\/strong> Waist is given in trouser waist style. To get this, you should measure 5cm below your natural waist. Natural waist is usually the smallest part of the torso.<\/p>\n

USE WITH OTHER GARMENTS:<\/h4>\n

This garment may influence the performance and fit of other items of protective wear, jackets, gloves, or boots for example. Please ensure other items of protective wear are appropriate to be worn with this garment. It is advised to combine this garment with appropriate helmets and other corresponding or complementary PPE garments such as jackets, other impact protectors, boots (in accordance with EN 13634), gloves (in accordance with EN 13594); and visibility clothing (in accordance with EN 1150) or high visibility accessories (in accordance with EN 13356).<\/p>\n

It is recommended that jacket and trouser separates should overlap when the rider is in the riding position.<\/p>\n

This garment does not contain any harmful substances.<\/p>\n

RESTRAINT:<\/h4>\n

Ensure that the fly zip and jean waist button are properly fastened and that the knee protector pocket zips are fully closed before riding. No other adjustment is necessary.<\/p>\n

STORAGE INSTRUCTIONS:<\/h4>\n

Hang the garment in a clean, dry, ventilated environment out of direct sunlight and away from direct heat sources. Do not leave on the floor or under heavy items as it may lead to the protectors becoming misshapen or damaged in some way. Keep it away from chemical substances that could damage the materials and make the garment lose its protective properties.<\/p>\n

MAINTENANCE:<\/h4>\n

Regular inspection (at least annually) should be made to the garment and impact protection fitting system for obvious signs of wear or broken stitches. If either are found, the garment or protectors should be returned for professional inspection and repair. If the impact protectors are worn or damaged or there is any doubt as to their condition, they should be replaced immediately. It is advised that the protectors are replaced every 5 years regardless of condition. If the garment or protectors have at any time received an impact due to an accident scenario, they should be replaced immediately.<\/p>\n

WASH CARE:<\/h4>\n

Care instructions applicable to all Knox Trousers and Jeans: Brush off excess road dirt. Remove protectors before washing. Insert protectors back into the appropriate pockets after washing and before use. Check garment care label for exact washing instructions. Wash Example: Wash at 30 degrees – Hang to dry – Iron on low temperature – Do not tumble dry – Do not bleach.<\/p>\n

Please dispose of the packaging supplied with the garment thoughtfully and according to your local regulations. Do not incinerate.<\/p>\n
