Exactly what it says on the tin! The Knox Urbane Pro Shirt is designed to be worn on its own in good weather with no extra layers are required. Just add a warm or waterproof jacket for protection from the elements.
Absolutely, the Knox Urbane Pro Shirt Mk2 can be worn all year round. It is the most versatile garment on the market, due to its lightweight and breathability for hot weather. In cold weather just layer up over the top with warm and waterproof layers. Its perfect for layering.
In line with the EN17062 standard the Urbane Pro Shirt features thumb loops to ensure correct fitment to the arm and to mitigate the garment moving/sliding during a fall. The shirt features a new improved security belt loop system on the inside to ensure riders can secure their trousers to the shirt. A Velcro strip on the chest area allows an optional Micro lock chest protector to be fitted. Zipped pockets for securing valuables or a mobile phone.
The Urbane Pro Shirt features two exterior pockets, one on the chest and one back pocket large enough to store a rain jacket if required. The Urbane Pro Utility Shirt features 5 tough duck canvas exterior pockets. Both styles have 2 handy interior pockets.
The Urbane Pro Shirt is designed to be worn as a CORE protection garment for any rider. This means the rider can layer up with a hoodie or jacket if preferred.
The shirt is supplied with CE approved Micro-lock Level 1 low profile shoulder and elbow and a full CE approved level 2 Micro-Lock back protector. An optional chest protector can be added. It is also possible to replace LV1 Shoulders and Elbows to Level 2 shoulders and elbows at the point of purchase. An additional Charge is made to cover this upgrade.
This is a machine Washable garment – remove armour before washing. Always read the wash care labels.

The elbow, shoulder and back protector armour is all removable.
Class AA is a certification level which is part of EN17092 – the European standard for motorcycle protective clothing. The garment is tested for dimensional stability, impact energy absorption, impact abrasion resistance, seam strength and structural closure, tear strength, sleeve restraint and finally fit and ergonomics. Of course, the product needs to pass all of these tests to be certified. There are 5 CE levels (AAA, AA, A, B, C) which are all tested differently dependant on the use of the garment (i.e. AA – is a class usually reserved for motorcycle textile suits).
The main difference is that we have taken a huge step forward in fabric construction with the Mk2.
The MK2 shirt uses new and exclusive Knox materials that have been engineered for improved abrasion, tear and cut resistance. As a result, we have been able to improve the performance of the Urbane Pro Mk2 and gained a CE classification of AA, which is a standard normally reserved for heavier leather and textile jackets.
Importantly this has been done without a gain in weight, thickness, and no loss of comfort, or breathability. Other subtle differences include new branding. A Knox badge celebrating Knox’s 40-year heritage, new discreet Class AA branding on the inside and a reinforced security belt loop system on the inside which secures the shirt to a pair of trousers.
somewhat heaver than I expected when I opened the box, but fabulous quality. impressed.
No longer with just one look on the move, #fashionstatementonamodernclassic
Super happy with that decision !!!
My only ...More
My only suggestion is to contact Knox customer service if you are unsure of the size so they can help you, at the end I picked up a L size and it fits me very nice
I have another full vented jacket, but was hoping this could provide the same airflow with less loose bulk, and that's exactly what it does, feels more like a long sleeve shirt than a jacket and I everything about it.
One suggestion Knox, can YOU PUT ZIPS ON THE INSIDE POCKETS? I installed some on mine (wasn't difficult) and the pockets are so much more useful but there is no noticeable difference when wearing it.
Either way, my first Knox product and expect it will not be my last.
When the package first arr...More
When the package first arrived, I noticed that the cardboard box was of substantial quality. Once I opened the box, I was also surprised to see a coat hanger. The coat hanger has the Knox branding and is shaped and thickened to aid in keeping the jacket in shape when its hanging, a simple item often overlooked.
My body size was just on the cusp of medium and large, and I as I wanted the chest armour, I got in touch with the sales team who were quick in replying to my questions. The items I bought, just ooze quality, and fit perfectly. The Urban Pro has great quality in its stitching and assembly which inspires confidence when I’m wearing it. I have a full set of leathers and textiles; I bought the Urban Pro to wear under a hoodie whilst practicing my stunts and its now my go-to armour for wearing on my bikes, UK weather permitting.
I will be ordering a few more Knox items shortly, as the quality is so inspiring. For the MK3 Urban Pro, I would like to see a slightly bigger chest pocket or a dedicated phone pocket for modern phones, Velcro, or zips on the inside pockets to keep your valuables safe.
Great bit of kit, cool on a roads, but not cold on motorways, witchcraft. But it works
I've used the Urbane Pro Mk2 for four weeks in France and Spain. Without it I guess I wouldn't have survived the summer heat, with temperatures up to 38 degrees.
The thumb loops seem to be attached in a peculiar spot: with my arms next to my body they fit fine, with my hands on the handlebar they are twisted and too tight, so I tend not to use them.
