its a great jacket both in looks and functionality , I would go a size up if you are using the layering system I had to return my large for extra large

I love this jacket! It's really stylish, and it sounds silly to say but I feel really cool wearing it! The finish and construction is lovely, with really nice soft leather on the collar and some of the edging. My only very tiny gripe is the pockets are a tiny bit tricky to close sometimes, due to the waterproof zips being quite stiff. But it's a very very insignificant factor in what is otherwise a really lovely jacket.

Great product, fits true to size, impressive quality and excellent value. Open the side zips and it fits perfectly over my armoured action shirt. Haven’t tested how waterproof it is yet, but no reason to doubt it given the quality.

I have waited a little while before reviewing the Leonard Wax Russet Jacket with Action Shirt in order to give a balanced view after several rides in different weathers. As I write in July 2018 the weather has been so good that the jacket has only had the lightest of showers so I cannot accurately comment on waterproofing. No doubt time will tell... What I can say is that without the thermal liner it makes a very nice summer riding jacket which is fine to wear to the pub, restaurant or work, without looking like a typical biker. It is extremely comfortable to wear and the sizing is accurate. I am a 38" chest and 32" waist with slightly shorter than normal arms. The jacket fits me fine. I don't need to undo the side zips to wear it with the Action Shirt but it does give a little more easement if I do. If I wore the additional thermal liner I would definitely need to release the side zips. This would extend the jackets usage to 3/4 season. The four external pockets are a good useful size, but I do find it difficult to use the upper two when wearing the jacket, simply getting a hand to the zips - maybe it's me! So I tend to use them for things I won't be called for whilst riding. The waterproof zips look well up to the job of keeping contents dry. The internal pocket is the perfect size for a wallet or mobile phone. The jacket is lightweight and slips on and off easily due to the nice silky lining. I do like the cuff design that tightens on to your glove extension. A thing I particularly like is that there is no velcro which I admit I find annoying on my other jackets. I like the prestud approach. All in all I'm pretty impressed with this jacket. The fact that it's British designed and made is heartwarming. I cannot comment about abrasion resistance of the material as this isn't stated and I don't intend to find out for myself. I hope it's good.

The Action Shirt. What can I say about this... In a word - it's perfect! Not a term I use lightly. I bought it because I was persuaded by the principle of wearing armour as close to the body as possible. It is comfortable to wear all day long. I have, a few times. You do not get sweaty. It's a nice slinky stretchy material that's close fitting and holds the armour snugly in place but without being restrictive. The armour is just plain amazing. It's so light, flexible and comfortable you really don't know you are wearing it. Really, it's that good! I have two other textile jackets from quality European manufacturers which came with shoulder, elbow, and back armour. I have removed it in favour of this action shirt which I can wear under all three jackets. It's made my Knox Aegis back protector redundant. I don't know why every biker isn't wearing one of these Action Shirts - it is that good! I've been riding for very many years. Kit is getting better all the time, but the Action Shirt does it's job better than anything I've had before. I'm now considering buying the Summer Action Shirt designed to be worn in hot climates without an overjacket. Brilliant!
