The Ford leather jacket is part of the Knox Layering System that has taken the armour out of a big bulky motorbike jacket and put it into a separate zip up armoured shirt, leaving the outer jacket lighter and softer. The secret zip on the outer jacket runs up the arms and down the sides to make room for the armour. The armoured shirt and jacket are designed to be worn together when riding.
This is casual gear off the bike and proper riding gear on the bike, not an awkward compromise of the two.
The new Ford Leather Jacket is a sports design with a retro twist. The Ford is made with the highest quality and softest aniline leather, contrast high tenacity stretch nylon panelling and has a removable real sheepskin collar. The Ford features YKK Metaluxe zips, high-end branding, adjustable side belts and is fully double stitched. The Jacket can be resized to fit on or off the bike via the Knox dual fit system and is designed to fit perfectly and look stunning with or without armour.

Dual-Fit
A unique Dual Fit Underarm Zip System changes the fit of the jacket on the arms and body. Open the zip and the jacket becomes bigger allowing armour and warm layers to be worn comfortably underneath. Off the bike, remove the armoured layer and close the underarm zip system for a perfect fit.
Analine Cowhide
1mm aniline cow hide with leather interior panels.
Knox Branding
Discreet Knox branding on the sleeve, back of the neck and chest. Gun metal branded fasteners on the sleeve and front. Branded rivets give added strength to the pocket edges.
Fitting Video
The video also shows how the dual zip system works. Opening the zip makes the jacket bigger allowing an armoured shirt and mid layers to be worn underneath for riding. Off the bike close the zip and the jacket is smaller so it can be worn fashionably.

Chest: Measure around the fullest part of your chest and your shoulder blades.
Waist: To work out your size, measure your waist in the position your trousers usually sit. As a guide this is roughly 5-6cm below your belly button.

First, as a leather jacket, it is amazing. Very good quality leather, soft and elegant. In my country, Spain, it would be possible but difficult to find such a good price/cuality relation.
Second, as a motorbike jacket. It is very confortable and allows you to move without restriction. It looks resistant but I have not tested it against the road.
It is not an "old school winter jacket". If you are going to wear it during the winter you will need extra layers. I see this as a good point, because with the hidden zippers you can wear an armoured shirt, a cold killer and your leather jacket on top. In spring/autum you can wear just the armoured shirt and the leather jacket, so it is much more versatile than an old winter jacket.
In south Spain this means you can use this jacket from September (at night/early morning) til April (again, at night or early morning).
I would like some kind of belt loops to attach the jacket with the jeans, but I understand some people could not like that. In any case, I don´t know any jacket that can be compared with this one and it deserves the maximum rating.
The jacket is unbelievable quality for the price point. I'd tried a few well known brands at the same price point and they don't compare to Knox for craftsmanship and fit.
The quality of service from Knox was amazing - really helpful and responsive.
