DUCATI V4 PANIGALETrack launch review Valencia

Knox and Bikeworld

The Ducati Panigale V4 has to be one of the most hotly anticipated motorcycles in 2018, and we’ve seen it at every motorcycle show we’ve been to over the past 3 months. Last weekend was first chance that a select few got to find out whether the bike would live up to the hype.

We partnered up with Bikeworld to find out!

Firstly, the Panigale V4 is the first mass-produced Ducati motorcycle to be equipped with a 4-cylinder engine, closely derived from the Desmosedici of the MotoGP. The Panigale V4 replaces the iconic 1299 range and by doing so increases performance and ridability!

Most of the riding was done on the Panigale V4s with the Ohlins suspension set up, with 1 track session on the V4 Speciale with an incredible 226hp.

First impressions are that while this is an incredibly powerful motorcycle, it is quite a different experience to riding the 1299 panigale. On the 1299 panigale, you were wrestling with the bike and its twin characteristics were much more extreme. The V4 is much easier to ride, and ride fast, most riders saying how surprised how easy this was to ride and how comfortable they felt riding it within a short space of time.

The electronics package includes slide control systems, cornering ABS, traction control, Slide control, Wheelie Control, Power launch, and engine braking control.

All of this combines to make an incredible track package and it’s hard to see how the Ducati V4 can be beaten by any of the competition in 2018.

During testing Chris was wearing the Knox Handroid gloves in Red (to go with the Ducati of course), the Knox Track Vest for complete Level 2 back and chest protection, and Knox Dry Inside Base Layers for moisture management.

Hope you enjoyed this review and video and look out for more to come.
