Most motorcycle clothing linings are sticky to wear so many riders opt to use some kind of base layer. Cotton is the most comfortable fabric and feels good against the skin but it absorbs moisture so it gets wet, cold and uncomfortable. Until now riders have settled for man made polyesters base layers but they snag easily, cling and can smell.
Knox Dry Inside is made from 97% soft cotton but unlike normal cotton it wicks the moisture away, leaving the rider feeling dry and comfortable. The cotton combined with 3XDRY® has a fantastic wicking capability but its secret is in the one way water path which means that once the water vapour or molecules have been pushed to the outside of the fabric they are not allowed back through. The garments are also treated with an antibacterial coating to avoid odours. Prices start at £24.99.

The Department of Transport has chosen Knox to be an official partner in the THINK! Motorcycle Academy for the third year running. The Academy promotes practical safety messages at British Superbike rounds - including the need to wear a CE-marked back protector. Knox is the only specialist manufacturer of impact protectors to be invited to participate, which demonstrates the Company’s commitment to safety and that the authorities recognise Knox as leaders in the field. Here’s the latest advice from the THINK! Academy.
An excuse to ride at your loudest
In built up areas, the single biggest threat to motorcyclists is invisibility. 25% of accidents occur at T-junctions where drivers can easily miss you.
So there’s never been a better reason to show off, even on the morning commute. Invest in some eye-catching gear and get yourself seen.
Here’s a style tip. Wear something that’s fluorescent during the day and reflective at night. And whatever the label, look for the CE safety mark.
Proper gloves, boots and trousers will all protect you as much as a quality jacket. While bike helmets should be undamaged, well fitting and bright.
If you now feel a bit conspicuous, that’s a good thing. Because each year over 6,500 motorcyclists are killed or seriously injured on UK roads.
(Just remember that whatever you put on to ride, don’t wear out your tyres. Check them regularly and have replacements fitted when needed.)
Once you look the part, a good way to put your new kit through its paces is to sign up for an advanced riding course for motorcyclists.
There are training centres to suit every need and budget. Some could even earn you discounted insurance, and you can find a full list on our news page.
According to research 20% of motorcyclists say they take dangerous risks. We say if you’re feeling daring, simply make a bold bike fashion statement.

Race Faces for 2007

100% record for Lavilla:
Since its beginning in 1981, Knox has been closely associated with motorcycle racing at the highest level and this is still true today. Knox is delighted to continue its support of Gregorio Lavilla in 2007, British Superbike Champion 2005 and currently the runaway leader in this hotly contested series. Greg has won all 4 BSB races so far this season and has shown superb style and riding ability on the Airwaves Ducati. Look out for the Knox logo on Gregs helmet.

Knox has also maintained its tradition for supporting the ‘battling Brits abroad’ with a sponsorship deal for Dean Ellison, competing for team Pedercini Ducati in World Superbikes. After 2 very hard years in BSB Dean has landed a new sponsor and ride in the toughest Superbike class of them all. He's in at the deep end but as in previous years Knox will back him all the way.
